Boo yah! I'm glad you decided to submit this and that it's getting such detailed reviews and positive feedback! It's pretty crazy to see such talent from someone so young. You definitely have a future in multi-media stuff, especially art and animation, but you're killing the coding too! I sincerely love the little winged double jump and the overall charm you integrated in this. Very strong sense of style.

I can't wait to see what you do in the future!

OMNIDAD responds:

thank you very much <3 that means a lot to me

Really well done game! I liked the mechanic of choosing 3 ships with different stats, a nice spin on the "3 lives" thing. I also liked the speeding up between waves, that was a nice touch. The music was really repetitive, and some of the ships were tough to see against the bg, but overall I'm really impressed and am now following you to see what you make next!

JauqGames responds:

Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed my game. I worked hard on this game so I'm glad you would want to see other stuff I could make.

Thanks,
Jauq

You done good son!

PestoForce responds:

Thank you for all your assistance lol!

10/10 would vasect again!

PestoForce responds:

Oh you!

Gobs of charm and style, now following you... I've got my EYE on you!

Rarykos responds:

Wow thanks that's an honour!

Really fun as always! I played with a gamepad and it was super smooth and tight. Only tiny thing I noticed in this vs. other versions was some pixelation on the poof effects. What kind of engine are you using for all this nowadays? What's the future of FPA?

DrNeroCF responds:

Thank you so much! Crazily enough, post on gamepads in AS3 actually got me started on the implementation.

I was experimenting with caching effects as a series of bitmaps, but for some reason that was the only effect that I did that with. You'd think I would be caching that at a higher resolution, but hmm, maybe I should look over that again...

Good stuff as usual! Is that metroid music in the bg all oldified? :-D

Wiesi responds:

Yeah it is! :D

If you right click and press "play" you can access the other toons. Otherwise neat idea, I like that they're all animations instead of just still pics.

Good work.

PuffballsUnited responds:

Thanks for pointing this out, I've fixed it! :)

Definitely amazing cut scenes and art direction. This oozes style from every pore. The game play itself was just "ok" but it kept me playing through to the end, something that most other flash games fail at.

I liked the switch up on the game mechanics with the changing lanes during the blaster scene at the end and the separately destroy-able sections on the larger boss ships. I was honestly expecting the whole game to be similar to that idea, where each level presented a new kind of "mini game" rather than just the same engine for each part, ie: some parts point and click, some parts action, some parts puzzle, etc.

You can tell this was poured over in every detail, my only wish is that the actual game itself had that same level of attention, thought, and effort. As it is, it's like the game "Asteroids" had a big budget hollywood production and animation team.

EldritchAbomination responds:

Hans says: Thanks for your review, I'm glad to hear that as okay as the game was, it was indeed playworthy. As far as the minigames things goes. We do intend for each episode in the series to play very differently. We want to explore different types of shooters in each episode, contexually sensitive to the story. Seriously thanks for your review dude. You'll like the prolog to episode two. We are learning a lot from making this game.

Bigger than expected

That's what she said.

Thanks for the hint, I enjoyed this distraction for 71 minutes!

JonBro responds:

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Thanks, BoMToons!

So many times, it happens too fast...you trade your passion for glory. Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past, you must fight just to keep them alive.
