This was so original and fun. The sound design was especially top notch. Loved the snacks saying their own types as a dialogue substitute, and the ambience/soundscape of a drive in was captured expertly. So many subtle nuanced touches showing how much care and love was included, even including the end cutscene and credits. I played on my iPad and that worked flawlessly. An immersive little world with memorable characters. Really nice job.

Popopopopop pop pop popop! (Glad you enjoyed it!)

This was surprisingly fun. It hooked me and I played through all 30 levels :-)

LVGames responds:

Nice you won all the levels in the demo, I'm happy to hear that!

Reminded me of commander keen!

plufmot responds:

aha thanks!

Very complete feeling. Tons of time and effort/polish put into the story/characters cutscenes, transitions, loading screens, settings, and sound (Simpsons arcade/TMNT arcade feels). Intuitive controls, notwithstanding the very innovative concept. Intense dual-hand coordination, but never unfair feeling. Pixel-perfect authenticity. I dig the idea of game design that is optimized for non-standard devices like a drawing tablet.

Stepford responds:

Thanks so much for the kind review, Nick! It means a lot coming from you! <3

Andyl4nd responds:

Thank you!!

Gave me that weird "world moving afterwards" after-effect that I get from Guitar Hero-like games. Really fun and I got into the beat. Nice job!

jefvel responds:

Thanks!
Yeah, same thing happened to me too. At first I thought it was because of the CRT shader effect, but it was the same without it. I'm now used to being dizzy all the time while testing

I agree with the requests for mouse-based controls. Otherwise, really fun and a TON of content!

Pomegranite responds:

Just added mouse controls!

Fun and dripping with style. I liked how you introduced new gameplay elements as the levels progressed to keep interest up on what, might have been, a kind of "casual, watch the action play out" kind of game. I made it to Tulsa and died twice... will prob come back later to try for Seattle :-)

My only criticism is that the explosion sprite looked a little phoned in, but that is a very MINOR criticism!

Edit: I'm referring to the explosion when you hit one of the drones in the factory. Looks like it might have been carried over from the small-size on the battle field, but looks blocky/unfinished when enlarged?

TomFulp responds:

Ah are you thinking of the explosion when a car explodes in the factory? It's smaller than the larger vehicles which I should try tinkering with... I get worried about causing more slowdown with it too though but would probably be fine.

<3'd it (as usual)! Is this release related to the release on mobile? Thanks you for the obvious amounts of love you put into this.

DrNeroCF responds:

Yep! World 4 is the online release of Super Fancy Pants, like World 3 was the online version of tFPA on consoles. It's just big enough that I think breaking it into parts makes sense.

Now that I know who Taako is, this makes a lot more sense!

opalescentquartz responds:

context is important

Is gud. Did you use bitmap data??!!?!!?!?!!

opalescentquartz responds:

y yes i did

So many times, it happens too fast...you trade your passion for glory. Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past, you must fight just to keep them alive.
