I got my copy of deadspread's 1976 comic today. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the printing and also the quality of the storyline and art. He has a very unique art style and his writing is really engaging too...I'm anxious to see what happens in the next issue.
If you haven't yet, I suggest picking up your own copy. You won't regret it!

In other news, I drove down to the San Diego area this weekend and participated in the Ride for MS
It was a 2 day event, and I cycled 50 miles each day. I had good company with jmtb02 and Dan from Armor Games who are both into biking. We had a really fun time riding down the Pacific Coast Highway which was stunningly beautiful. I should have some pictures up sometime in the coming week.
Next up on my to-do list is to somehow make it out to PA to visit the NG office and chill with the crowd that is moving out there in the next year.

I just got back from the Tour De Tahoe! What a ride!
Be careful not to call it a race, the event organizers were sure to make that clear. "Riders" started at any time between 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. from the Horizon Hotel/Casino on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe, then rode completely around the huge lake (72 miles) and ended up back at the start line.
The course hugged the Lake Tahoe shoreline tightly so it was a truly beautiful and inspiring morning.
I rode with my good friend Aaron Shamy who has been my long-distance (he in Utah and me in Nevada) fitness buddy for the last year.
We started at 6:30 and finished 4.5 hours later. We were quite impressed with our time considering the HUGE mountains we had to traverse. As we crossed the finish line with one other rider, they called out our places 18, 19, 20. Did I mention there were over 2,000 registered riders?!
Other interesting tidbits:
- The ride was at a pretty high elevation, between 6000 and 7000 feet throughout.
- There was over 5000 feet of climbing
- I burned around 5000 calories in 4.5 hours
- Drafting is the only way to go (we got in 3 or 4 good peletons and they made a HUGE difference)
Here is a really neat page that breaks down the stats from our ride, you can actually watch an animated breakdown of the stats as the ride progressed. Shamy's Garmin is a pretty neat little gadget: CLICK HERE

This set of clips got me so pumped up.
MJ was (and is) such an inspiration. I would kill for a generation VI pair of Jordans:

Sometimes working with a tyrant really gets to you. I made an awesome "game over" screen for the game I'm making with Luis, and he wouldn't allow it in the game...
Oh well, I guess I'll get my revenge tomorrow.
P.S. Check out the 2010 NG Calendar contest if you haven't yet!
P.P.S. Game coming out tomorrow!

Hey y'alls, we're revving things up for the 2010 NG calendar.
Get in on the hot action here:

The calendar came out really well last year. I'm very proud of it, and it performed wonderfully in the store too. I hope we get a similar turn out of NG's finest for this year's edition.
Additionally, my game with Luis and Rucklo is coming along dandy. I hope it's not a complete disappointment to all you people with high demands. It's been a fun, stream of consciousness ride, with some experimental gameplay on my end...My part is pretty much done, but Luis has many many hours of animation left on his end still - as per usual :)
Here's a sneak preview:

Just got back from San Diego for the '09 comic con!
The convention itself was pretty cool but, as always, getting to meet up with the real faces behind the usernames from NG was the best part.
The Behemoth also threw a great after-party on Saturday with drinks named for the CC knights and a tip jar that said "Level-up!" Also included was a great dinner with hand-made corn tortillas, carne asada, pork, and chicken TACOS!
I really enjoyed hanging out with Rog and Pox from I-mockery and watching people play the demo to our upcoming game. Chatting with everyone else was really sweet too.
Thanks to Deadspread for the sweet shirt, I'm pretty sure I was the only person wearing one at the con :)

I was surprised and happy to see that Castle Crashing the Beard recently passed a million views on NG. I'm really surprised that such a small game has enjoyed so much attention. Something special came together with that game...a good union of different skills and humor happened that is turning out to be tough to duplicate.
I hope the power of 3 thing reveals some similar "synergy" (buzzword) amongst the NG community. Right now I'm wondering what happened to Danomano and whether he's still planning to finish off our game.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who played and enjoyed CCTB! May its whiskery goodness live on!
(*fun fact: cctb has been played 7.8 million times across the web!)
