It would have been nuts to have resources like this in high school, even crazier to have a teacher who could walk you through it in class. Wonder if my kids will be watching these videos one day!
We started watching speedpaint videos recently, it's fun to show the kids how cool art is made.
I personally believe that the "in person" component of video instruction is the key... Khan Academy and other online resources are good, but having someone there to help you troubleshoot in person (and that person being the person that actually made the reference video) makes a huge difference in staying motivated and understanding the instruction.
I need to come up with a good name for what I'm doing... maybe "guided video instruction" or something...

I feel like this should maybe be wrapped up inside of a character class? However, it adds an extra step to the tutorial, and you may not want to breach the concept of OOP just yet.
