Looking good man!
Thanks!
I only know the bare minimum about programming. But after reading some really great articles on Gamesutra ( http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/author/DavidGalindo/880867/ ) from the guy who made "Cook, Serve, Delicious!" I decided that I need to give GMS a whirl. I haven't started yet. But I think I settled on an idea at least.
Looking forward to Barfbarians. That name alone aught to win you a lot of support!
GMS is probably a great intro for learning more about programming. It is quite user-friendly even for beginners! Good luck with your game project!
as2 4 lyfe
Ashkin scrip two point Oooohhh!
Super excited for BB.
If I can in anyway lend a hand to team Abobo (a tester or anything) please don't hesitate to ask.
I've actually been drawling some Conan type of stuff lately, so maybe I'll adapt some into fan art.
I'm starting work on my first steam game soon, but good luck getting onto console, I hope you guys make a big splash.
Thanks man, we'll definitely let you know if we need help. You've done quite a bit of pixel work right? And some BGs?
Noice!
:-D
Would probably love GM Studio too! Funny enough before getting into as2 I tried out Game Maker back in 07 and thinking it was pretty bare bones; especially considering the quality of as2 games at the time. Now I might just try it out!
Yeah, give it a shot!
Hi!
Hi Wiesi!
I sure have done a lot of both.
Ok, we're just getting started, but I'm sure we'll need help along the way and you'll be at the top of the list! :-D
I tried to come up with a funny comment that doesn't include asking for a free SCK steam key but I can't Dx
I really need to work on my comedy routine.
Running out of material...
Hey Nick, totally agree about GameMaker. We use it for Boss 101 and it is amazing. A great combo (at least for us) is Spine (by Esoteric Software) and GameMaker. We build all animation assets in Spine and import into GameMaker. Really easy and very intuitive too. You can get the low budge version of Spine and do most everything you need to do.
Best of luck!

Nice! Is Spine like dragonbones?
Yeah, just checked out DragonBones and they look to do the same sort of thing. If it's what it looks like then yes, Spine is basically a DragonBones like thing that works with GameMaker.
excellent, I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the heads up!
I notice the similarity with a certain movie bah-barian...
Can't wait to puke on my enemies, have them driven before me, and hear the lamentations of their women. ^_^
Never heard of it, but you have the right idea of what to expect from this game! :-D

I started tinkering with Game Maker in an attempt to make something for Pixel Day but never finished. I did like it though and I want to make time for it on the weekends to put together a shooter / teach the kids some stuff about making games. Kinda torn between GM and Construct 2 though. I think it will work well for Barfbarians!

I'm really liking Game Maker, it seems right up your alley given your affinity for as2 ;-)
The real revelation for me was the use of "Scripts" run through an invisible controller object which basically lets me puppet everything like I would in Flash and break everything up into discreet functions.
I might have to take a look at Construct 2 sometime... what are its pros/cons?
Have you tested GM's reliability with html 5 output? (I know Unity's webGL stuff sucks...)
