It should be equal, hence the power of three. 33.3% should go to you, and same to luis. Put the .1% in a shared account with Luis and dump it in savings. However, it comes down to how much you put IN the project, Both of the games you listed above are freakin' sweet.

Why is this so complicated for people? Just split it.....but in your case (since you cant), i hear ya.

This ISNT Highlander, there can only be ONE rev. beneficiary! BWAHAHAHAHA!

poor poor bomtoons... You must be quite angry if you went to the trouble of drawing that detailed picture.

Something needs to pay for my trips. They arent going to pay for themselves. If you were in my shoes youd understand my pain when i take 95%.. yes i just bumped it up 5%

Buccaner Battle was awesome, and you used another artist.
Go for it, bro, "You Good Code Make."

:P

Wow Luis is a jerk

is that supposed to be luis? I thought luis was a mexican. where are thou brown skin >:C

Coders and animators are such different species...

oh wow you deserve better man,

I agree artists and programmers should be treated as equals, I ve seen this happen on places like flash game lisence where they want 35 $ for you to skin an entire game.

I usaly split 50/50, even splitting 60/ 40 ( the latter going to my programming partner , and the game is another account) one time of my own free will.

if I were you the first time he did this I would have removed it from the portal.

oops in my post meant the former

I can't believe it....Luis is such and egoist.I was a huge fan of his games, but now he has dissapoint me.It isn't so hard to do the artwork the scripting is harder. You did well that you told us about it and...how dares he leaving you a comment that he is cutting your wages.Anyway it's too bad I love your games and you make a great couple.I was dreaming to work with you...:( too bad

Skeik-Sprite gave me $100 for making a few levels in a Level Designer he made. I thought that was more than fair because I barely did any work.

Sorry about Luis, BoM. :(

Luis is overrated anyway.

I think programming games like you guys have been making takes about 80% of the time. The only real exception to this is a game where a lot of cinematics are used or quick time events are a majority of the gameplay, such as Dragon's Lair.

For the games you guys make, doesn't Luis just draw the objects, movie clips, and maybe a few animations? I don't see how he gets any more then you do unless I misunderstand how cooperating game development works. I think programmers should get more than artists for things like flash games since the programmer spends more time programming then the artist does animating.

You are like Tiny Tim.

I'm pretty sure BomToons' silly round character is inside one of those bags... let's just hope he won't sell that one.

O.O...................no wonder luis keeps giving stuff away.....hes using other newgrounders cuts to make himself more famous D: technically programmers dont need artists it just takes more time to make games that way......but this is a 3-man-team........and luis you dont have to keep taking trips srsly there is no excuse for this.............i used to respect you but now your just a common thief >:(

Wow... There are some insanely stupid people in this thread.

Fluffkomix and ScelesticFish get the ultimate face-palm award.

As someone who has officially crossed from animation to programming, I can assure you that being a good programmer is very similar to being a good artist. There's a level of expertise that goes a long way toward making something playable and efficient. But... from what I've seen, programmers typically spend more time on a project than the artists.

Artist:
Draw the background art.
Draw the game-play elements.
Draw the menu art.

Programmer:
Conceive of the idea.
Design the program.
Build all of the components one by one.
Check for bugs.
Integrate the components.
Check for bugs.
Create the levels.
Check for bugs.
Balance the game-play.
Check for bugs.
Integrate the interface.
Check for bugs.
Beta test.
Check for bugs.
Release the game.
Get yelled at for bugs.
Fix bugs.
Re-release.

...

Profit.

That sounds about right :)

Pfft mongoid.

I see what you did there =.=

.......

@ mongoid

programmer:

1.help with idea
2.modify previously made engine in 2 hours
3.profit

artist:
0.help with idea
1. make background art
2.design main character
3.animate main character
4.design enemy
5.animate enemy
6.repeat step's 4 through 5 three to ten times
7.create menu art
8.create special effects
9.create opening movie
10. repeat step's 0 through 9 becuase the programmer decide's he dosen't like your design's
11. get shafted by programmer becuase he decide's he dosen't like your work anyway .

seriously it's not very hard to create a biased veiw of either one, it's best to look at each other as equals ;)

wow, he's.....luis, and all, but i didn't know he was such a dick

Luis sounds like a dick.
GIVE HIM 50% YOU PENIS, CODING IS HARD!
