coding is to hard, scripting easy

Jul. 3, 2008 | 11:29 AM BoMToons responds:

Ok, I didn't know there was a difference :-P

Jul. 3, 2008 | 11:35 AM Hoeloe says:

In Flash terms, there is no difference between coding and scripting. And damn, I'm not great with API... otherwise I might have been able to give this a shot. Probably wouldn't have done anyway though :P

Jul. 3, 2008 | 2:23 PM BoMToons responds:

It's not the flash drawing API, it's our own API to tie game results and status into the main Woogi World engine.

Jul. 3, 2008 | 12:50 PM gankro says:

what kind of api integration are we talking? same rules that applied to the contest? because if so I am highly interested... Should I just send my coding portfolio... or...?

Jul. 3, 2008 | 2:23 PM BoMToons responds:

Similar ideas as the contest, send your stuff to that link and our programming team will take a look.

Jul. 3, 2008 | 12:58 PM The-EXP says:

I think he means woogi's API, not the Flash drawing API, silly :p

Jul. 3, 2008 | 2:24 PM BoMToons responds:

Exactly.

Jul. 3, 2008 | 12:59 PM jmtb02 says:

Woogi World looks like Pangea.

Jul. 3, 2008 | 1:34 PM ToFlashOrNotToFlash says:

Wasn't it called "Wigi World" or something before...?

Jul. 3, 2008 | 2:24 PM BoMToons responds:

Or something.

Jul. 3, 2008 | 1:42 PM Pig-Fart says:

What the hell's an "opporunity"?

Jul. 3, 2008 | 2:25 PM BoMToons responds:

Oops, good catch...I must have accidentally used the "T-remover"

Jul. 3, 2008 | 7:52 PM JonBro says:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it used to be called Wiggi World. Why was it changed?

Jul. 3, 2008 | 9:49 PM gankro says:

@jonbro: I believe it involved theoretical lawsuits and the wiggles, of all people.

Jul. 4, 2008 | 1:48 PM BoMToons responds:

Yep, just playing it safe since we can't really afford to deal with a big time lawsuit.

Jul. 6, 2008 | 6:46 PM Rammer says:

when you say "capable," what does that mean in terms of difficulty?

what should one be able to program to be effective at this job?

Jul. 6, 2008 | 8:08 PM BoMToons responds:

Pretty simple as far as the game engines go, a little more advanced knowledge is needed for tie-ing your game into our API, but if you have any skill at all with AS logic, you won't have trouble figuring things out.

Jul. 7, 2008 | 9:26 PM Rammer says:

if i were employed by WW, would i have to churn out a steady supply of games, or is it more like sponsorships in that people are paid just whenever they make a game?

Jul. 8, 2008 | 12:10 AM BoMToons responds:

You'd have specific projects and deadlines to work on. You wouldn't be developing your own games at your leisure, it's a real job.
